Students at Wesmere Elementary School in Plainfield, Illinois, have introduced the Wolf Pack Podcast, a platform designed to share school news and recognize the achievements of students and staff. This initiative stems from the school’s Alpha Wolf Club, a leadership program for fourth and fifth graders, aiming to create a welcoming environment where every student feels a sense of belonging.

According to the program’s organizers, speech-language pathologist Megan Eberle and fifth-grade teachers Clara Davidson and Ashley Richard, the club engages members in various committees focused on school spirit, special events, and community initiatives. The podcast represents a new effort for the 2025-26 academic year, with its inaugural episode set to debut on October 22, 2025.

The Wolf Pack Podcast allows all interested club members to participate in future episodes. Organizers emphasize that the podcast will help students develop essential skills such as collaboration, organization, and communication. Each episode will feature different hosts from the club, providing opportunities for various members to take the lead.

In the first episode, fifth-grade hosts Hayden Castro, Londyn Robinson, and Olivia Marcos covered several upcoming events, including Unity Day, Trunk-or-Treat, and the school book fair. They also discussed the qualities of a good friend and conducted an interview with former student Sofia Ramirez. Castro noted, “Not all people have time to read a newsletter, but they can listen to the podcast in the car.” Robinson added, “It was fun and inspiring to do the first podcast.”

The podcast will be uploaded to YouTube on a monthly basis by Eberle, who encourages teachers to feature it during their morning classroom meetings. Davidson highlighted that even students who do not host the podcast will have opportunities to influence its content, fostering a sense of community involvement.

With the Wolf Pack Podcast, Wesmere Elementary School is not only creating a new channel for information but also enhancing the leadership and teamwork skills of its students, preparing them for future endeavors while strengthening school spirit.
