Community Events Highlight Health Care Appreciation and Cultural Celebrations
Residents of London, Ontario, are coming together to celebrate community spirit through a series of events in March 2026. The initiatives range from expressing gratitude for health care services to cultural performances that enrich local traditions.
Appreciation for Health Care Staff
A heartfelt message of thanks was recently shared by a former patient of Victoria Hospital, who expressed deep gratitude for the care received from the hospital’s staff. In particular, Doctors Zainbad Bhojani and Radhika Kelkar, along with nurses, social workers, and various support teams, played a crucial role in the patient’s recovery journey. The patient acknowledged the impact of their encouragement, therapeutic activities, and compassionate approach, which contributed to a healthier departure from the hospital.
The patient’s family also conveyed their appreciation, highlighting the collective effort of the hospital staff in providing exceptional care during a challenging time.
Cultural Celebrations and Fundraising Events
The community will also enjoy a rich cultural program with the London Concert Band and the Banting Senior Jazz Band presenting a concert titled Entente Cordiale on March 8 at Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School. The performance, scheduled for 14:00, will feature a blend of music from Britain and France, showcasing a variety of genres including royal court traditions and jazz classics. Tickets are priced at $15 for adults, $5 for students, and children aged 12 and under can attend for free.
On March 12, the community is invited to attend a fundraiser titled Share the Love, hosted by Heart-Links at Innovation Works starting at 17:30. This free event aims to support education, health care, and economic opportunities for families in northern Peru. Attendees can enjoy live music by Los Freakies, participate in a silent auction, and relish various refreshments.
As part of the evening, Heart-Links will share reflections from a visit to partner organizations in Peru, providing insights into the communities and projects they support.
Following these events, the Canadian Celtic Choir will perform on March 14 at Colborne Street United Church, starting at 14:00. Under the direction of Paul Grambo, the choir will present a lively program of Celtic music, with tickets priced at $30 and free admission for children under 13.
Learning Opportunities and Community Engagement
For those interested in learning new skills, the London Bridge Centre will host a free introductory session on bridge on March 28 from 09:30 to 12:30. Registration is required by March 25, and details can be found on the centre’s website.
These events reflect the vibrant community spirit of London, highlighting the importance of health care appreciation and cultural engagement. Local residents are encouraged to participate and support these initiatives, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.
