Fatal Collision Near Elmwood Claims Life of Arran-Elderslie Woman
A tragic incident occurred on March 14, 2024, when a two-vehicle collision near Elmwood resulted in the death of a 69-year-old woman from Arran-Elderslie. The crash took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Bruce Road 10, close to Dankert Lake Road, prompting a swift response from local emergency services.
Emergency personnel, including the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Elmwood Fire Department, and Grey Bruce Emergency Medical Services, arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. The woman, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was pronounced deceased. The two drivers involved in the collision sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Ongoing Investigation and Road Closure
The South Bruce OPP has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, with support from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team. As part of this investigation, Bruce Road 10 was closed to traffic between Concession Road 4 and Concession Road 6, causing significant disruption in the area.
The roadway remained closed while authorities conducted their inquiries, but it reopened at 20:15 on the same day. Police are appealing to the public for assistance.
