Spanish Studio Mystic Morgue to Launch The Visitor Effect This November
The Spanish independent studio Mystic Morgue has announced that its debut video game, The Visitor Effect: Not an Experiment, will be released on November 7, 2023. This highly anticipated title will be available on multiple platforms, including Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The game is supported by the publisher Dojo System.
During the upcoming Steam Next Fest, which runs from October 13 to 20, players and media representatives will have the opportunity to explore a demo of the game. This event will allow participants to engage with the gameplay and request review access, fostering a connection between the developers and the community.
In The Visitor Effect: Not an Experiment, players take on the role of R3D, an alien robot trapped within a bizarre simulation. As R3D, they navigate an uncertain reality with no recollection of their captors or purpose. The narrative unfolds through engaging dialogue, hidden notes, and morally complex decisions, prompting players to critically assess what constitutes reality and illusion.
The gameplay features a mix of intricate puzzles and evolving mechanics, challenging players to adapt while contending with relentless enemies and defensive turrets. Those who manage to escape the simulation will confront the formidable General, who stands as the last obstacle to their freedom.
Mystic Morgue plans to enhance the Steam Next Fest experience with live developer streams, behind-the-scenes sessions, and interactive community events. Participants will have the chance to provide feedback, join various challenges, and potentially win exclusive rewards for their involvement.
Combining elements of mystery, strategy, and emotional storytelling, The Visitor Effect: Not an Experiment invites players to delve into themes of perception, choice, and truth. Interested players can now add the game to their wish list on Steam in anticipation of its upcoming release.
