Decathlon Launches the Betty Tiny Home for Comfortable Travel
Decathlon Tiny Homes has introduced the Betty, a new model designed to offer a blend of comfort and mobility for those interested in tiny house living. Measuring 28 feet in length, the Betty falls into the mid-size category of towable homes and provides a well-organized layout suitable for two occupants. This innovative design aims to challenge the common perception that living on the road requires significant compromises.
Thoughtful Design and Durability
Constructed on a triple-axle trailer, the Betty features an exterior made of engineered wood and composite roof shingles. This combination not only enhances durability but also minimizes maintenance efforts. The inside, however, is where the true appeal lies. The layout centers around a fully functional kitchen, which is strategically placed to serve as the heart of the home.
The kitchen showcases quartz countertops, a deep farmhouse-style sink, and ample cabinetry, including a spacious pantry. A breakfast bar offers a casual dining area, while essential appliances such as a microwave, a two-burner induction cooktop, and a fridge/freezer enhance the kitchen’s functionality. Additional features like a reverse-osmosis water filtration system and a garbage disposal ensure convenience and comfort for occupants.
Comfortable Living and Sleeping Areas
Adjacent to the kitchen, the living room provides a cozy atmosphere equipped with space for a sofa and a mini-split air-conditioning unit. Although compact, it fulfills its role as a relaxing retreat. A standout feature of the Betty is its ground-floor bedroom, accessible via a sliding barn-style door. This design choice sets it apart from many tiny homes that often rely on lofted sleeping arrangements.
The bedroom offers full standing headroom, a luxury that many tiny home residents miss out on. It includes a queen bed platform with integrated storage drawers, a built-in wardrobe, and generous glazing, including a skylight that floods the room with natural light. A wall-mounted television adds a modern touch to the space.
The bathroom, located at the opposite end of the home, is equipped with essential amenities. A pocket sliding door opens to reveal a vanity sink topped with matching black quartz, a stacked washer/dryer, a flushing toilet, and a glass-enclosed shower.
While the Betty does include a loft area, it is not designed as a legal sleeping space due to the absence of egress windows. Instead, it serves as an additional storage or hobby zone, maximizing the home’s functionality.
Pricing details for the Betty have yet to be confirmed, but it is based on Decathlon’s Athena series, which begins at $79,500. For those interested in exploring this model further, Decathlon Tiny Homes has made a detailed video walkthrough available.
The Betty exemplifies how couples can achieve a compact lifestyle on the road without sacrificing comfort or style. With its thoughtful design and practical features, this tiny home presents an appealing option for individuals considering the downsizing trend.
