LEGO’s 1,257-Brick Fruit Basket Gains Popularity on Ideas Forum

A stunning new LEGO creation, designed by builder Jagamax, has captured the attention of enthusiasts with its intricate 1,257-piece Fruit Basket. This fan-made project features a vibrant assortment of fruits, offering a decorative option for interiors that avoids the common nuisances associated with real fruit, such as fruit flies.
The Fruit Basket, which serves as a delightful addition to LEGO’s existing Botanicals kit, showcases a range of fruits including bananas, apples, pears, and cherries. It provides a colorful touch to home decor while cleverly incorporating potpourri for a pleasant aroma. As the LEGO community grows, this unique design adds to the expanding catalog of nature-inspired sets aimed at enhancing living spaces.
Creativity Meets Functionality
Jagamax expressed enthusiasm for the realistic object theme that LEGO has embraced in recent years. “I absolutely love the ‘realistic objects’ theme in LEGO, something we saw a lot during the first BDP in 2021 with sets like Pursuit of Flight and Clockwork Aquarium,” he noted. He believes that the Fruit Basket perfectly aligns with both the realistic object and botanical collections, making it a versatile piece for collectors and decorators alike.
The bowl itself measures 22 cm in diameter, approximately 8.6 inches, and includes detailed representations of each fruit, with internal structures visible when sliced. This attention to detail adds an engaging element to the set, appealing to both children and adult hobbyists.
A Growing Community Support
Currently, the Fruit Basket is featured on the LEGO Ideas forum, where it has garnered over 2,000 votes. To reach the next milestone, the design needs to accumulate 10,000 votes, which would prompt LEGO’s internal team to evaluate its potential for becoming an official retail product. Should this idea come to fruition, it opens the door for new fruit designs—mangoes, strawberries, and more could be on the horizon.
For those interested in supporting this innovative creation, visiting the LEGO Ideas website to cast a vote could help transform the Fruit Basket from a concept into a reality. As the LEGO community continues to inspire creativity through fan contributions, the potential for new and exciting designs remains limitless.
