HARMAN Unveils Ready StreamShare for Enhanced In-Car Audio Experience
HARMAN, a leading automotive technology company and a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has launched a new audio solution called Ready StreamShare. This innovative system is designed to enhance the in-car audio experience for families, allowing multiple users to enjoy personal audio while ensuring effective communication within the vehicle.
Transforming Family Travel
In response to the evolving needs of modern families, particularly those with Millennial and Gen X parents traveling with Gen Z and Gen Alpha children, the car cabin has become a multi-user environment. Traditional audio systems typically cater to a single source, but families now demand the ability to connect multiple devices without sacrificing interaction. Ready StreamShare addresses this demand by creating a shared yet personalized audio experience that enhances journey quality.
The system features a central in-vehicle connection hub that allows up to four passengers to pair their devices. Each user can create their own personal listening zone while still having the option to share audio with others in the cabin. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for families, as it allows for a mix of private enjoyment and communal experiences.
Seamless Communication and Interaction
Ready StreamShare is equipped with HARMAN’s patented Wireless Audio Ultra-Low-Latency streaming technology. This allows passengers to transition seamlessly between enjoying media and engaging in hands-free conversations without needing to remove their headphones. A unique Driver Announcement feature pauses active audio streams, ensuring that important messages can be communicated to all passengers effectively.
“Families now expect the car to function like their digital lives—personal, connected, and shared,” said Zafar Razzacki, Director of Product Management for Ready StreamShare at HARMAN.
He emphasized that this technology not only meets consumer demands but also transforms road time into a more enjoyable and functional experience. By integrating personal device freedom with shared connectivity, Ready StreamShare enhances the in-car environment significantly.
The system is designed to evolve with families and their changing needs. It can easily integrate into any of HARMAN’s existing in-cabin offerings and supports features such as parental controls, making it suitable for guests or children who may not have their own devices. Additionally, there are plans for future enhancements, including compatibility with external Bluetooth speakers for outdoor events and smart accessories that can provide soothing audio for infants.
Overall, Ready StreamShare represents a shift towards more intelligent in-cabin audio experiences, combining deep user insights with advanced technology to create a more connected vehicle environment. HARMAN’s commitment to innovation and enhancing user experiences positions it as a leader in the automotive technology sector.
