HARMAN Unveils Ready StreamShare for Enhanced In-Car Audio Experience
In a significant development for in-vehicle audio technology, HARMAN, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has launched Ready StreamShare, an innovative solution designed to enhance the in-cabin experience for modern families. Unveiled in Novi, Michigan, this system accommodates the evolving needs of families traveling with children from Generation Z and Generation Alpha, allowing multiple users to connect their personal devices seamlessly.
As families increasingly travel together, the expectation for a multi-user audio environment has grown. Traditionally, car audio systems were designed for single-source use, primarily catering to the driver. Ready StreamShare addresses this gap by transforming the car cabin into a shared auditory space where each passenger can enjoy their media while maintaining the ability to communicate effectively.
How Ready StreamShare Transforms the In-Car Experience
The Ready StreamShare system features a central audio hub that allows up to four passengers to connect their smartphones. This hub facilitates the creation of personalized audio zones, enabling individuals to listen privately through HARMAN’s ultra-low-latency headphones or join others for group playback.
Passengers can easily transition from media enjoyment to hands-free conversation without removing their headphones. The system includes a Driver Announcement feature, which pauses all audio streams to ensure that important messages are relayed clearly to all occupants. Powered by HARMAN’s patented Wireless Audio Ultra-Low-Latency technology, conversations remain natural and uninterrupted, even in a shared listening environment.
“Families now expect the car to function like their digital lives—personal, connected, and shared,” said Zafar Razzacki, Director of Product Management for Ready StreamShare at HARMAN. “This technology not only enhances personal device freedom but also fosters shared connections, making road trips more enjoyable and functional.”
The Future of Shared Audio and Communication
Ready StreamShare sets the stage for a more connected future in vehicle design. This system can be integrated into existing vehicle architectures, providing automakers with a scalable solution that evolves with advancements in connectivity and consumer expectations.
The system’s Bluetooth-enabled connection hub allows for efficient media sharing among passengers, mirroring contemporary family interactions. A simple tap enables drivers to send announcements throughout the cabin, pausing all media to ensure clarity without distractions.
Additionally, Ready StreamShare is designed to adapt over time, accommodating scenarios such as connecting to external Bluetooth speakers during outings or integrating with future accessories like smart car seats. This flexibility is aimed at enhancing family journeys, whether they involve children without devices or the need for parental controls.
HARMAN continues to expand its portfolio of intelligent in-cabin solutions with Ready StreamShare, reinforcing its commitment to creating meaningful and seamless experiences for consumers. This innovation reflects HARMAN’s understanding of user needs and its dedication to enriching every moment on the road.
