Brandon University and Assiniboine College Prepare for Holiday Breaks
Brandon University and Assiniboine College are gearing up for significant holiday breaks as the fall exam period concludes. The last exams at Brandon University will take place on December 22, 2025, followed by a holiday break that begins on December 24. Classes at the university will resume with winter orientation on January 5, 2026, while most classes will commence on January 6.
Campus Services and Events
The Healthy Living Centre at Brandon University will remain operational during the holiday season, excluding Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. Limited hours will apply on other days, and more information can be found at HealthyLivingCentre.ca.
Following the break, the Bobcat Athletics teams will also return to action. Their Canada West play will resume in January, with the basketball teams hosting home games against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen on January 8 and 9.
Meanwhile, Assiniboine College is promoting its involvement in Manitoba Ag Days. Students and community members are invited to start their Wednesday by attending the Ag Partnership Breakfast in January, an event aimed at supporting financial awards for students in agricultural programs. Tickets can be purchased through the college’s website at assiniboine.net/events.
Student Support Initiatives
Additionally, Assiniboine College Students’ Association is providing crucial support for students during this exam period. They will host a Final Stretch Support event on December 18 from 16:00 to 19:00 at the Victoria Avenue East campus. This initiative is part of a collaboration with Library and Learning Curve staff to assist students as they prepare for their finals.
Both institutions are making efforts to ensure students are supported and informed during this busy time of year. As the semester comes to a close, the community can look forward to these upcoming events and the return to classes in January.
