Brandon University is currently in the midst of its fall examination period, which concludes on December 22, 2025. Following this, students will begin their holiday break starting on December 24, with the university scheduled to reopen on January 5, 2026, for winter orientation activities. Most classes for the winter semester will commence on January 6, although some Faculty of Education classes will start a day earlier.

Healthy Living Centre and Athletics Update

The Healthy Living Centre at Brandon University will maintain limited operating hours throughout the holiday season. Notably, the centre will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. For detailed hours and other information, individuals are encouraged to visit HealthyLivingCentre.ca.

In sports, the Bobcat Athletics teams will take a break during the holiday period. They will resume competition in the Canada West league in January, with the basketball teams hosting the University of Winnipeg Wesmen for home games on January 8 and January 9.

Assiniboine College Events and Student Support

Assiniboine College is gearing up for several events in January, starting with the Ag Partnership Breakfast on January 18. This initiative aims to support financial awards for students pursuing agricultural-based programs and related trades. Tickets for the breakfast can be purchased at assiniboine.net/events.

Additionally, the college will host an Ag Mixer on January 21, allowing alumni to reconnect during Manitoba Ag Days. While registration is not mandatory, it is recommended to email [email protected] for planning purposes.

In an effort to assist students during the final exam stretch, the Assiniboine College Students’ Association is offering Final Stretch Support. This initiative, in collaboration with the library, learning curve staff, and student advisors, will take place on December 18 from 16:00 to 19:00 at the Victoria Avenue East campus.

As both institutions prepare for the holiday season, students and faculty alike are encouraged to take advantage of the various resources and support available during this busy time.
