Vancouver Whitecaps Face Dallas FC in Crucial Playoff Opener
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC are set to begin their playoff campaign against Dallas FC on Sunday, October 26, 2023, at BC Place Stadium. The match is scheduled for 16:30 local time. Following a stellar regular season, where they achieved a club-record 63 points and 18 wins, the Whitecaps enter the first round of the MLS Cup playoffs as strong contenders.
In their final regular season match, the Whitecaps faced Dallas FC, losing 2-1 in front of a sold-out crowd of 26,741 at BC Place on Decision Day. This loss secured Vancouver’s position in second place in the conference behind San Diego FC, setting the stage for a playoff series against Dallas.
Playoff Series Format and Schedule
The playoff series will follow a best-of-three format. Game 2 will take place in Frisco, Texas, on Saturday, November 1, 2023, starting at 18:30 Pacific time. If necessary, Game 3 will return to BC Place on Friday, November 7, 2023, with the game time yet to be announced. The Whitecaps are eager to capitalize on their strong home advantage as they aim for success in these crucial matches.
The Whitecaps have not only set records for points, wins, and goals scored this season, but they also achieved a remarkable goal difference of +28. Club CEO and sporting director Axel Schuster expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments, stating, “This has been a fantastic, record-breaking year for our club, and now we have reached the most important part of the season. We will need our supporters now more than ever.”

This marks the third consecutive season that the Vancouver Whitecaps have qualified for the MLS Cup playoffs, and the fourth time in the past five years.
