The train departed Doncaster at 18:25, bound for King’s Cross station in London. It was approximately halfway through its journey when passengers began to report stabbings. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as travelers fled from the carriage where the violence unfolded. Olly Foster, a passenger, recounted hearing someone shout, “Run, run, there is a guy stabbing literally everyone.” He initially thought it was a prank until he noticed blood on his hands from touching the seats.

Emergency services responded rapidly, with the British Transport Police arriving on-site at Huntingdon station shortly after receiving the first reports. Within minutes, dozens of officers, including armed specialists, were dispatched to the scene. The train made an unscheduled stop, allowing passengers to evacuate as armed police approached.

Arrests and Victims

British Transport Police confirmed that within eight minutes of the initial calls, officers had boarded the train and arrested two men. Reports indicate that one suspect was subdued with a Taser while wielding a large knife. The suspects, described as a 32-year-old Black man and a 35-year-old of Caribbean descent, are British citizens and are currently being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.

Among the victims, ten individuals were taken to nearby hospitals, while an additional person sought medical attention independently. Initially, nine of those injured were classified as having life-threatening conditions; however, by Sunday morning, police reported that only two remained in critical condition, while four others had been discharged from care.

Police Superintendent John Loveless stated that while counterterrorism officers were called to assist, there was no indication that the incident was linked to terrorism. The investigation is being led by the British Transport Police, and authorities have not yet identified a clear motive for the attack.
