Search Teams Mobilize to Locate Missing Man in Mission
The search for a missing 62-year-old man in Mission, British Columbia, has mobilized over 125 searchers from various organizations, spanning three days of intensive efforts. Timothy Eyolfson was reported missing on Christmas Day, December 25, 2023, after last being in contact on December 14. His vehicle was located on a logging road near Florence and Sayers Lake.
Ridge Meadows Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) initiated the search when Eyolfson was reported missing. The Mission Search and Rescue (MSAR) team was deployed on December 23, with support from nearby search teams. The collaborative effort included participants from Central Fraser Valley Search, Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue, Coquitlam Search and Rescue, Kent Harrison Search and Rescue, South Fraser Search and Rescue, Hope Search and Rescue, and Civil Air Search and Rescue.
“A huge thank you to all those members who have committed to helping MSAR during this search,” MSAR expressed in a Facebook post. The organization recognized the dedication of volunteers who have come together to assist in locating Eyolfson.
As of December 29, 2023, the search operations continue. Ridge Meadows RCMP has been conducting various investigative steps alongside other agencies, including local search and rescue teams, to find Eyolfson. Authorities have reported that Eyolfson is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 235 pounds, with grey hair and hazel eyes. His family and friends have expressed deep concern for his wellbeing, highlighting the urgency of the search.
Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with information regarding Eyolfson’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251, referencing file number 2025-26458. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
The ongoing search underscores the community’s commitment to supporting one another in times of need, with multiple organizations collaborating to ensure all possible resources are utilized in the effort to locate Timothy Eyolfson.
