Princeton Duo Reviglio and Jones Secure Second at Ryder Cup

Reese Reviglio and Illyana Jones from Princeton demonstrated their skills at the Princeton Invitational Lady Ryder Cup, finishing in second place on Saturday, September 30, 2023. The event took place at the Wyaton Hills Golf Course and featured competitive performances from several teams.

The Tigresses ranked sixth among six participating teams, with scores from their teammates Jadeyn Klingenberg and Taylor Compton totaling 108, while Anika Hansen and Kinsley Lott finished with a score of 113. The overall standings highlighted the strong performance of Erie-Prophetstown, which secured first place with a score of 177. Sterling followed closely in second place at 179, while LaSalle-Peru tied with Dixon for third, both finishing at 186.

In addition to the golf results, the weekend also featured cross country events. At the IVC Invitational held in Chillicothe, Gemma Moore from Bureau Valley achieved a commendable 16th place with a time of 21:58. Her teammates also performed well, with Summer Hamilton finishing 24th in 24:20.22 and Ella Wilt coming in 25th with a time of 24:12.2.

In the boys’ race, Maddox Moore from Bureau Valley placed 21st with a time of 18:04.75. He was followed by Adrian Gallardo, who finished 23rd in 18:07.06, and Alex Attig, who crossed the finish line in 28th place with a time of 18:41.

These events showcased not only the competitive spirit of the athletes but also the importance of teamwork and individual effort in achieving success in sports. As the season progresses, both the girls’ golf and boys’ cross country teams will continue to build on their experiences and strive for improvement in upcoming competitions.
