Pembroke Hosts Taste of the Valley Holiday Edition on December 13
The County of Renfrew will host the fifth and final event of the 2025 Taste of the Valley series, highlighting local products and creativity. The Taste of the Valley Holiday Edition is set for Saturday, December 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 170 Ellis Avenue in Pembroke. This annual celebration showcases locally grown, made, and created offerings from the region.
Originally launched over a decade ago to promote local food producers in the Ottawa Valley, the Taste of the Valley has evolved into a vibrant marketplace. The event now encompasses a wider definition of “taste,” celebrating not only local food but also handcrafted products, visual arts, and cultural experiences that embody the unique spirit of Renfrew County.
Event Highlights and Community Impact
The Pembroke Holiday Edition will feature more than 55 vendors, both inside and outside the Knights of Columbus Hall. Attendees can expect fresh local produce, unique handcrafted items from talented artists and artisans, as well as a variety of baked goods, prepared hot food, jams, and preserves from local food producers throughout Renfrew County.
The event is a collaborative effort, with all Taste of the Valley gatherings in 2025 organized in partnership with local municipalities. Pembroke Mayor Ron Gervais expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Pembroke is excited to once again partner with the County and bring this special holiday edition of Taste of the Valley to our city. This event is a great way to support local artisans, farms, and artists, who provide so much vibrancy to our local economy.”
David Wybou, Business Development Officer with the County of Renfrew’s Economic Development Division, emphasized the importance of the event in fostering community spirit. “This seasonal event invites residents and visitors to discover unique, locally made gifts, delicious treats, and handcrafted treasures; perfect for sharing the warmth of the holidays while supporting our talented artisans and vendors,” he remarked.
Supporting Local Artisans and the Economy
The Taste of the Valley Holiday Market not only serves as a platform for local vendors but also enhances the economic landscape of Renfrew County. By promoting local goods, the event encourages community engagement and boosts the visibility of regional artisans and producers.
As the holiday season approaches, this event offers an excellent opportunity for attendees to find distinctive gifts while enjoying the festive atmosphere. For those interested in attending, more information about the Taste of the Valley can be found at www.TOTV.ca or by following their social media at @TasteoftheValleyRC.
This holiday edition promises to be a joyful celebration of creativity and community spirit, making it an event not to be missed.
