Local Woman Identified After Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Johnsburg

A pedestrian tragically lost her life after being struck by a vehicle on Richmond Road in Johnsburg on October 30, 2023. The victim has been identified as Abigale Fugett, a 23-year-old local resident. The incident occurred around 19:26 at the intersection of Running Brook Farm and North Richmond Road, as noted by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

Emergency services responded promptly, with the McHenry Township Fire Protection District transporting Fugett to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital. Despite their efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, as confirmed by Coroner Michael Rein, who stated that his office is collaborating with the Johnsburg Police and fire district to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
