Langley Homicide Investigation Launched After Fatal Shooting

A shooting incident in Langley on the evening of September 29, 2023, has resulted in the death of one individual. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is currently conducting a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event. The Langley Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 22:28 local time, near the intersection of 200 Street and 53 Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim and attempted lifesaving measures. Despite their efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene. According to Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP, the investigation has since expanded to the nearby 20200 block of 53A Avenue, where further inquiries are being conducted.
