Help Identify Sexual Assault Suspect in Surrey Incident

Surrey Police Service (SPS) and the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) are seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect involved in a sexual assault incident that occurred on January 16, 2024. The incident took place around 12:15 p.m. when a female victim reported being assaulted while walking in the 10700-block of 146 Street in Surrey.

According to a news release from the Surrey Police on January 20, the suspect allegedly approached the victim from behind before committing the assault. The victim managed to escape and reach safety.

The suspect is described as an Asian male, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, around 30 years of age. He was wearing a distinctive white puffer jacket with black shoulders and sleeves, which featured a fur-trimmed black hood. His attire also included red shorts and white Nike running shoes with black soles. At the time of the incident, he was last seen walking along 146 Street.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity to contact the Surrey Police Service non-emergency line at 604-599-0502. Additionally, tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or via their website at www.solvecrime.ca. When reaching out, please reference file number 26-2139 (SU).
