The Monster Mash Family Dance is set to bring a festive atmosphere to Nampa on October 18, as the Golden Pioneers Senior Drop-in Centre transforms into a lively hub of ghouls and goblins. Organized by the Nampa/Northern Sunrise County Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), this annual event aims to provide a fun-filled evening for families in the community.

The dance will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., welcoming all residents from the county and the village of Nampa. FCSS director Amber Houle highlighted the importance of this event, stating, “We’re hosting the dance to create a great time for the whole family.” Participants can look forward to a deejayed dance, exciting costume prizes, glitter tattoos, and much more.

Attendance is free of charge, encouraging family participation in a celebratory Halloween gathering. “I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the evening with their neighbours,” said Houle. The FCSS views community events as essential for fostering feelings of well-being and togetherness among residents.

Community Spirit and Festivities

To enhance the festive spirit, Houle emphasized the need for creative Halloween costumes, as prizes will be awarded throughout the evening for standout outfits. The event also promises snacks and refreshments, reinforcing its goal of bringing together families and community members for a night of fun.

“Community events are important to host as they foster a feeling of well-being and togetherness,” Houle noted. The Monster Mash Family Dance has become a staple in Nampa, reflecting the values of social and cultural interaction that the FCSS aims to promote.

For those seeking more information about the event, Houle encourages potential attendees to contact the FCSS office at (780) 322-3954. The Monster Mash Dance not only serves as a festive celebration but also strengthens the bonds within the community, making it a highlight of the autumn season in Nampa.
