Delta Hotels Victoria Launches Electric Golf Cart Rentals
The Delta Hotels Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort has partnered with Vancouver-based HeyYa Rentals to introduce electric golf cart rentals, marking a notable first for the city. This initiative allows guests to conveniently pick up street-legal golf carts directly from the resort, enabling a unique way to explore Victoria.
According to Tasha Maynard, founder and CEO of HeyYa Rentals, the introduction of these carts is designed to enhance the experience of visitors. “We’re so excited to team up with the Delta Victoria to bring HeyYa carts to this beautiful part of the city,” Maynard stated in a recent news release. “These street-legal electric carts are all about slowing down, soaking it in, and exploring Victoria in a whole new way – with a smile on your face and the wind in your hair.”
The electric carts, manufactured in British Columbia, can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h and are permitted on roads with a speed limit of 50 km/h or lower. To drive one, users must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
General Manager of Delta Victoria, Kimberley Hughes, expressed enthusiasm for this new offering. “We’re thrilled to offer our guests a new way to experience Victoria that’s both sustainable and fun,” Hughes noted. “We’re proud to be the first hotel in the city to offer this unique experience right from our doorstep.”
The carts began circulating on the streets of Victoria in May 2023, with a fleet of 15 carts available at the View Street Parkade. Guests can easily pick up a cart from the resort itself. Booking is straightforward; users can either scan a QR code located on the cart or visit the HeyYa Rentals website, selecting “Victoria West – Ocean Pointe Resort (Self-Serve)” as their designated pickup location.
This initiative not only provides a novel mode of transportation but also aligns with sustainable tourism efforts in the region. By offering environmentally friendly alternatives, the Delta Hotels Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort and HeyYa Rentals are contributing to the promotion of greener travel options for visitors to this picturesque city.
