Classic Country Music Show Reunion Set for February 2024
A reunion of the beloved Classic Country Music Show is scheduled for February 17 and 18, 2024, at the Prince Albert Wildlife Federation. This event marks a nostalgic return for performers who helped establish the show in 2002, dedicated to preserving and celebrating Classic Country music that originated prior to 1960.
The Classic Country Music Show began as a collaborative effort by a group of talented artists from Prince Albert, including Bernice Thall, John Quinn, Elmer Lamadee, Larry Krause, Elder Bergen, and Audrey Neubuhr. They were joined by band members Garry Larson, Dale Adams, Dave Tupper, and George Pistun. The inaugural performance took place at the old Prince Albert Convention Centre, where audiences braved temperatures as low as -40°C to enjoy the music, leading to sold-out shows and many disappointed fans.
The show quickly gained popularity, running for five successful years before relocating to the E.A. Rawlinson Centre. This summer, the remaining cast members engaged in discussions about the possibility of a reunion performance. They unanimously agreed that the time was right to bring back the cherished experience, leading to the announcement of two performance dates in February.
Tickets for the reunion shows are priced at $25.00, and advance purchases can be made by contacting Larry Krause at 306.961.4694. Fans of classic country music can expect a heartfelt revival of the music that once captivated audiences in Prince Albert, allowing them to reminisce and enjoy the sounds of a bygone era.
With this reunion, the Classic Country Music Show aims to reignite the passion for classic songs and foster a sense of community among its fans. The event promises to be a celebration of the genre’s rich history and the performers who dedicated themselves to its preservation.
