Samsung has officially introduced its latest innovation in mobile technology, the Galaxy Z TriFold. This new device represents a significant leap in design, offering a unique three-fold mechanism that allows a 10-inch tablet to fit comfortably in a pocket. The announcement follows months of anticipation and speculation within the tech community.

The centerpiece of the Galaxy Z TriFold is its expansive 10-inch display, which Samsung describes as the “most immersive screen on a phone.” When fully unfolded, it provides the equivalent screen space of three standard 6.5-inch phones. Despite the impressive size of the screen, the device remains remarkably slim, measuring just 3.9 mm at its thinnest point and 12.9 mm when closed.

Under the hood, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z TriFold with a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, ensuring top-tier performance suitable for multitasking. The device houses a robust 5,600 mAh battery distributed across its three panels, supporting 45W super-fast charging. This setup allows users to run multiple applications simultaneously, enhancing productivity.

On the photographic front, the Galaxy Z TriFold is fitted with a powerful camera system. The rear features a 200MP wide-angle main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto lens. Additionally, there are 10MP selfie cameras located on both the cover and main screens, catering to a variety of photography needs.

To achieve this innovative form factor, Samsung has developed a dual-rail Armor FlexHinge system, allowing the panels to fold inward with minimal gap. The chassis is reinforced with titanium and what Samsung terms “Advanced Armor Aluminum,” providing durability and a robust feel.

A standout feature of the Galaxy Z TriFold is the integration of standalone Samsung DeX. This allows users to launch a desktop-like environment directly on the device without needing an external monitor. Users can create up to four workspaces, each capable of running five applications concurrently. When connected to an external monitor, the device supports a seamless dual-screen setup, enhancing its utility for professional tasks.

The software also includes deep integration with Galaxy AI and Gemini, offering features such as sketch-to-image capabilities, generative photo editing, and an advanced multimodal assistant that responds intelligently to on-screen content.

The Galaxy Z TriFold is set to launch first in Korea on December 12, 2025, with plans for a broader rollout to markets including the U.S., China, and the UAE. While the exact pricing in the U.S. has yet to be confirmed, estimates suggest it will fall between $2,500 and $3,000. This premium price point reflects the device’s potential to serve as both a smartphone and a laptop, appealing to tech enthusiasts eager for cutting-edge technology.

As Samsung continues to push the boundaries of mobile innovation, the Galaxy Z TriFold represents a bold step forward in the evolution of personal devices.
