Samsung Confirms Galaxy Z TriFold Name, Specs, and Release Date
Samsung is set to unveil its first tri-fold smartphone, named the Galaxy Z TriFold, following a detailed leak from reputable tipster Evan Blass. This latest information sheds light on the phone’s specifications, including its camera capabilities, battery capacity, and expected launch date.
The Galaxy Z TriFold features a dual display setup, with a cover display measuring 6.5 inches and a main display that expands to 10 inches when unfolded. Notably, the main display is foldable, marking a distinct design choice compared to existing models like Huawei’s Mate X and Mate X2, which utilize different configurations.
In terms of camera technology, the device will be equipped with a remarkable 200-megapixel main camera. While specific details regarding the camera’s capabilities were not disclosed, it could potentially incorporate the same high-performance unit found in the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra. Accompanying this advanced camera system is a robust battery, rated at 5,437mAh, which will likely be marketed as a 5,600mAh battery.
The displays of the Galaxy Z TriFold will also boast impressive brightness levels, with peak brightness rated at 2,600 nits for the cover display and 1,600 nits for the main display. This indicates a focus on delivering vibrant visuals, particularly in outdoor settings.
Further insights shared by Blass include the phone’s varying thickness, which ranges from 3.9 mm to 4.2 mm, reflecting the device’s innovative folding design. Powering the Galaxy Z TriFold will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, likely the high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, although confirmation on the specific chip has yet to be provided.
The anticipated launch of the Galaxy Z TriFold is scheduled for December 5, 2025. This timeline aligns with Samsung’s previous statements regarding the release of new devices before the end of the year. As the smartphone market continues to evolve, the Galaxy Z TriFold is positioned to make a significant impact with its unique design and advanced specifications.
