Over the Hill Expands to Consoles Amid Anticipation for 2026 Launch
Funselektor and Strelka Games have announced that their upcoming game, Over the Hill, will be available on multiple consoles, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. This decision comes as the game has already generated significant interest, amassing over 600,000 wishlists on Steam. The anticipated release is set for 2026, coinciding with the PC launch.
The announcement was made during the recent ID@Xbox Fall 2025 Showcase, where a new trailer showcased the game’s tranquil landscapes and minimalist design. This fresh glimpse highlights the studio’s commitment to creating an engaging off-road exploration experience. Players can wishlist the title on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store, with pre-purchases for the Nintendo eShop expected to be available soon.
Physical Editions and Collector’s Items
In addition to digital formats, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 players will have the opportunity to purchase physical editions of the game. These editions, produced in collaboration with Serenity Forge, include the Premium Standard Edition, which features a physical copy of the game, a window cling decoration, and the original digital soundtrack.
For avid collectors, the more elaborate Collector’s Edition offers a variety of themed items. This includes a rocking dashboard car standee, an embroidered patch, a lanyard keychain, a winched collar pin, and a vehicle poster, along with the same window cling decoration and physical game. According to Funselektor and Strelka Games, this edition is designed to celebrate the spirit of off-road exploration, with each collectible intended to evoke memories of past adventures. The enamel winch pin and motion-inspired car standee are specific examples of how the game captures a sense of quiet adventure.
As the release date approaches, excitement continues to build around Over the Hill. With its unique blend of serene exploration and engaging gameplay, the title aims to offer players a memorable journey when it launches on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
