DIGIERA Launches $2,000 HoloMax: A Bold Move for 3D Gaming
DIGIERA has unveiled the HoloMax, a revolutionary handheld tablet priced at **$2,000**, designed to revive 3D gaming with real-time conversion of standard games into 3D. This ambitious device features a glasses-free display that tracks eye movements, making adjustments to create a dynamic visual experience. While the gaming industry debates display technologies, DIGIERA aims to redefine visual interaction, positioning itself as either a visionary leader or a risky venture.
The HoloMax was showcased at **IFA 2025**, where early demos highlighted its unique capabilities. This device is not confined to a single function; it adapts to user needs by transforming into a tablet, handheld console, or laptop through its detachable components. Powered by **AMD’s** latest AI-focused silicon, the HoloMax boasts impressive specifications, bringing desktop-level performance into a portable format.
At its core lies a **10.95-inch display** with a resolution of **2560 by 1600 pixels** and a refresh rate of **120 Hz**. The autostereoscopic technology, coupled with real-time eye-tracking cameras, allows for a seamless 3D experience, overcoming limitations seen in previous models like the Nintendo 3DS. The device employs the AstraDepth3D engine, an AI pipeline that enables on-the-fly conversion of 2D content into immersive 3D visuals.
With a weight of **870 grams**, the HoloMax’s design is a hybrid marvel. It features detachable magnetic controllers for handheld gaming, which can also be used wirelessly. The tablet includes an integrated kickstand and a detachable keyboard, facilitating a quick transition to a compact laptop. The size dimensions of **374 by 171 by 15.9 mm** position it strategically between existing handheld consoles and ultraportable laptops, targeting a niche audience of gamers and creators.
The performance of the HoloMax is driven by the **12-core, 24-thread Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor**, designed specifically for high-performance mobile computing. The integrated **Radeon 890M-class graphics** ensure compatibility with modern AAA titles at the device’s native resolution. Users can opt for configurations that include up to **64 GB** of LPDDR5 memory and **4 TB** of NVMe PCIe 4.0 storage, which are aligned with the needs of both gamers and professionals seeking an all-in-one solution.
Connectivity options are robust, featuring a **USB-C 4.0 port** for charging and external displays, an additional USB-C port, a legacy USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port, and a full-size HDMI 2.1 output. A **3.5mm headphone jack** is included, enhancing usability. On the wireless side, it supports the latest **WiFi 7** and **Bluetooth 5.3** standards, making it easy to integrate into various setups without the need for additional adapters.
As with any high-performance device, questions about battery life arise. The HoloMax is equipped with a **7,200 mAh battery**, estimated to provide **3.3 hours of gaming** or up to **10 hours of video playback**. The detachable controllers each have their own **650 mAh batteries**, supported by a **2,100 mAh bridging dock** that allows for wireless play while extending battery life. A comprehensive cooling system, including a **4,200 RPM fan** and dual copper heat pipes, ensures optimal performance during extended gaming sessions.
The HoloMax will be launched on **Kickstarter in October 2025**, with initial pricing set at **$1,699**, **$1,999**, and **$2,399** for different configurations. Early backers can secure the device for a reduced price of **$1,499**, **$1,699**, and **$1,999** with a **$30 deposit**. Although the price is steep, DIGIERA’s strategy hinges on the appeal of its innovative 3D display technology and high-end performance, targeting enthusiasts eager to explore the forefront of portable gaming advancements.
With the HoloMax, DIGIERA is not merely entering the market; it is challenging the status quo of portable gaming technology, inviting potential users to embrace a new era of immersive gaming experiences.
