The popular environmental simulation game, Clean Up Earth, has launched an updated demo today on Steam, introducing a range of new features and improvements based on player feedback. This update enhances gameplay depth, enriches narrative elements, and optimizes the overall experience as the game prepares for its upcoming Kickstarter campaign.

New Features and Gameplay Enhancements

Players can now partner with a companion drone that actively identifies and cleans up waste, adding a collaborative element to the gameplay. The updated crafting and reconstruction system allows players to gather resources, rebuild structures, and unlock new areas within the game. Furthermore, the new map accommodates up to ten players, promoting larger and more dynamic multiplayer experiences.

One of the standout features of this update is the introduction of quantum memory, which enables players to visualize past buildings and human activities. This innovative mechanic adds a new layer of exploration, encouraging players to delve deeper into the game’s world. Developers have also redesigned environments to feature more complex layouts and exploration paths, enriching the overall aesthetic and interactive experience.

In addition to these changes, a voiced non-playable character (NPC) now guides players through mechanics and enhances the game’s world-building aspects. As players work to restore habitats, they will encounter early wildlife species returning to the environment, fostering a sense of ecological restoration.

Character customization has been expanded, offering a wider variety of options for hair, clothing, and colors. The tutorial system has also been refined, featuring four concise lesson maps that facilitate smoother onboarding for new players. A new whistle mechanic allows users to coordinate more effectively with teammates during gameplay.

Performance Improvements and Global Reach

The demo update includes significant performance enhancements that improve frame rates, stability, and overall optimization. Additionally, the game now supports multiple localizations, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Dutch, and Czech, ensuring a broader global reach.

Clean Up Earth is set to launch on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in Q1 2026. Magic Pockets will announce console release dates after the Kickstarter campaign concludes. The game will also be featured in the Best Indies Showcase next month and will participate in the second week of the upcoming Jingle Jam, supporting the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and highlighting this environmentally focused adventure.

As the gaming community eagerly anticipates the full release, today’s demo serves as a promising glimpse into the game’s potential impact and gameplay experience.
