Aston Martin Unveils Powerful 2026 DB12 S Edition Super Tourer
Aston Martin has officially launched the 2026 DB12 S, enhancing its renowned DB model lineup. This new edition positions itself as a formidable contender in the luxury sports car segment, boasting an impressive output of 690 horsepower from its upgraded twin-turbo V8 engine. The car manufacturer, based in the United Kingdom, describes the DB12 S as the epitome of their “Super Tourer” philosophy, a concept introduced with the original DB12 two years ago.
The DB12 S takes the foundation laid by the standard model and elevates it through several performance enhancements. Notably, the powertrain now generates an additional 19 horsepower, increasing from 671 to 690 horsepower. In addition to the power boost, Aston Martin engineers have reduced gear-shift times by approximately 50 percent. The updated launch-control system enables the DB12 S to accelerate from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.4 seconds, which is about a tenth of a second faster than its predecessor.
Performance Enhancements and Design Features
The DB12 S retains the same Mercedes-AMG-derived engine as the non-S variants but with significant refinements. A new stainless-steel exhaust system accompanies the engine upgrade, while an optional titanium exhaust can reduce the vehicle’s weight by 25 lbs (11 kg) and enhance engine sound by 1.5 decibels.
Visual updates include a striking new front splitter, bonnet louvres, and a quad exhaust arrangement, which together form a distinctive aesthetic signature for the new S models. Additionally, a fixed rear spoiler and a redesigned rear diffuser improve downforce and handling at high speeds.
Inside, the DB12 S continues the tradition of luxury associated with the Aston Martin brand. Customers can choose from a selection of finishes, including red anodized trim, Alcantara, or a mix of Alcantara and leather. Options for seating include a 16-way power sport seat or a lightweight carbon-fibre performance seat, catering to varying preferences among buyers.
Availability and Future Prospects
Order books for the 2026 Aston Martin DB12 S are now open, with the vehicle being offered in both Coupe and drop-top Volante variants. While pricing details have yet to be confirmed, customers can expect initial deliveries to begin in early 2024.
As Aston Martin continues to push the boundaries of luxury and performance, the DB12 S stands out as a testament to the brand’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the automotive industry. Enthusiasts and potential buyers alike are eagerly anticipating the arrival of this powerful addition to the Aston Martin family.
