The Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair (QRSTF) is set to showcase the talents of young scientists and engineers on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Taking place at Saint Theresa Catholic School, this annual event serves as a significant platform for STEM education within the region. As the March 29 registration deadline approaches, organizers are actively finalizing details, including securing judges and confirming student finalists.

“We are in the crucial final stages of preparation,” stated Scott Berry, Co-chair of QRSTF. He expressed gratitude to the dedicated sponsors and volunteers whose support is vital for making this celebration of youth science possible. With a strong turnout anticipated, the event aims to foster a community spirit centered around innovation and discovery.

The QRSTF offers an engaging experience for both participants and the public. Community members are invited to attend the public viewing session from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. This open-house exhibit allows visitors to interact with young presenters and explore a variety of projects that range from environmental science to robotics. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the intellectual curiosity that drives local students.

The day will conclude with an official awards ceremony at 3:30 PM, where outstanding projects will be recognized for their creativity, scientific rigor, and presentation skills. This ceremony not only celebrates the hard work of the students but also underscores the fair’s commitment to developing critical skills necessary for future academic and career paths.

In addition to numerous awards and prizes, up to five students will be selected to represent the region at the Canada-wide Science Fair (CWSF), organized by Youth Science Canada, taking place in Edmonton in May. The QRSTF committee emphasizes the fair’s role in inspiring long-term interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. By connecting students with expert judges and providing a platform for their ideas, the event aims to build confidence and demonstrate the real-world impact of scientific inquiry.

For ongoing updates on finalists, sponsors, and the event schedule, interested parties can follow the Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair on social media or visit their official website at www.qrstf.ca.
