In Calgary, a new business is bringing the holiday spirit to life through the sale of real Christmas trees. Julien Millaire, a 22-year-old college graduate, has launched a venture that not only aims to provide festive decorations but also to support families in need during the holiday season.

Millaire’s business, located along Blackfoot Trail, features 400 trees sourced from Quebec. The trees are priced between $130 and $380, with sizes reaching up to 10 feet tall. Millaire takes pride in his selection, which includes a mix of Fraser firs and balsam varieties. He has already sold around 30 trees since the launch, which reflects his commitment to quality and customer service.

For Millaire, the business represents more than just a source of income. He expressed his desire to give back during a time when many families face challenges. “It’s always good to give back during Christmas time, especially when it’s cold,” Millaire stated. “I feel it can be miserable for some families, especially those with loved ones in the hospital.” To this end, he has implemented a unique initiative: for every tree sold, he donates a Christmas gift tailored to the needs of local families.

Millaire’s entrepreneurial journey began four years ago as a college student when he started with a simple pickup-and-drop-off service. Over time, he developed the idea into a full-scale tree sales operation, despite the initial apprehension about the investment involved. He now views this venture as a practical means to address his student debt while simultaneously contributing to his community.

Community and Future Plans

The Christmas tree lot is open for business throughout the holiday season, offering both delivery and pickup options. Millaire hopes that Calgarians will embrace this new holiday tradition, which reflects local values and a spirit of giving.

Looking ahead, Millaire’s ambitions do not end with the Christmas season. He plans to explore additional business opportunities in the new year, ensuring that his entrepreneurial spirit continues to thrive beyond the festive period.

Millaire’s venture not only highlights the importance of community spirit but also showcases the impact a dedicated individual can have in bringing joy to others during the holidays. In a world where many face adversity, Millaire’s commitment to giving back serves as a reminder of the true spirit of Christmas.
