Vancouver’s Mini Mini Market Showcases Young Creatives
A new pop-up market in Vancouver is set to showcase the talents of young creators aged six to 14, offering a platform for their handcrafted products. The event, named the Mini Mini Market, will take place on August 23, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the flagship store of local retailer Plenty in the Kitsilano neighbourhood, located at 2803 West Broadway.
This initiative represents a collaboration between Plenty and the community art space Collage Collage, aiming to support and celebrate emerging young artisans. A total of eleven young creators will be featured at the market, offering a variety of handmade items, including clay figures, cookies, artwork, and jewelry.
Murat Imren, CEO of Plenty, expressed the company’s commitment to fostering local talent. He stated, “The Mini Mini Market with Collage Collage reflects our long-standing commitment to independent artists and emerging creators, celebrating craftsmanship, individuality, and community spirit.” Imren emphasized that by highlighting young entrepreneurs, they are nurturing the next generation of innovators and contributors to the local community.
In addition to showcasing their products, young attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities at a craft table provided by Collage Collage. This interactive element aims to inspire creativity and encourage participation among the next generation of makers.
Founded in 1989, Plenty has established itself as a community-focused retailer, partnering with local artists and brands while operating nine retail locations across Western Canada. The company’s ongoing efforts to support grassroots initiatives and local talent reflect its dedication to building meaningful connections within the community.
The Mini Mini Market not only highlights youthful creativity but also encourages a sense of community among Vancouver’s residents. Attendees can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with unique products and the energy of young entrepreneurs eager to share their creations.
