Remembering Don J. Holley: A Life of Music and Dedication
Don J. Holley, a cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the age of 58. Surrounded by family and loved ones, he concluded a brave and hard-fought journey with grace. Throughout his life, Don was known for his kind spirit, quiet strength, and the genuine connections he fostered with those around him.
Don is survived by his devoted wife, Joan Holley, as well as his parents, Donald and Carole Holley. He leaves behind a close-knit family, including his brother, Jeff Holley, and sister-in-law, Toni Holley, along with his niece, Lauren Holley. His sister, Kerri Holley, and brother-in-law, Jean-Guy Francoeur, also mourn his passing. Extended family, friends, colleagues, and countless individuals whose lives he touched will deeply miss him.
A Passion for Music and Teaching
Music was the cornerstone of Don’s life, providing him with joy, comfort, and a means of self-expression. Those who knew him best recall how integral music was to his identity. His dedication to teaching left a lasting impact on his many students, as he took great pride in their achievements and personal growth.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare team at Sault Area Hospital for their compassion, dedication, and care during Don’s final days. Their support was instrumental in providing comfort during a challenging time.
Don now finds peace in the loving presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. A celebration of his life is planned for the spring, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
