Pembroke Regional Hospital Raises $15,086 Through Smile Cookie Campaign
Residents of Pembroke and Petawawa united this November, raising a total of $15,086 for the Pembroke Regional Hospital through the third annual Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign. The fundraiser took place from November 17 to 23, 2023, during which local Tim Hortons outlets baked, decorated, and sold 15,086 cookies across six locations—three in Pembroke and three in Petawawa.
The funds raised will support the acquisition of a new HUGS Infant Security System, which is essential for the hospital’s labour and delivery unit. This initiative highlights the community’s commitment to improving healthcare facilities locally.
Andy Burns, co-owner and operator of the McCluskey Group, expressed pride in the partnership, noting its direct impact on the community. “It makes us feel very good to know that funds raised will go directly towards essential equipment for the labour and delivery unit at the hospital that services our community and our teams,” he stated.
Community involvement was evident throughout the campaign. Roger Martin, executive director of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support. “Our team at the Foundation and the entire hospital staff were so excited to help with this year’s fundraiser, volunteering their time to decorate cookies, purchasing cookies, and spreading the word,” he said.
The excitement generated by the campaign was palpable, with Martin commenting, “Nothing is better than seeing all those smiling faces, and that includes patients at PRH who will benefit directly through donations to our highest priority equipment needs.”
For those wishing to contribute further to the Pembroke Regional Hospital, additional information can be obtained by contacting the PRH Foundation office at (613) 732-2811 ext. 7408 or visiting their website at www.prhfoundation.com.
This successful campaign not only underscores the philanthropic spirit of the Pembroke and Petawawa communities but also ensures that vital healthcare resources are available for future generations.
