Ottawa Township High School Honors 19 Students as State Scholars

Nineteen seniors from Ottawa Township High School have been recognized as Illinois State Scholars for the Class of 2026. This honor, announced by the school, is awarded by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) based on academic excellence, primarily assessed through ACT or SAT scores and other educational criteria.

The Illinois State Scholars program identifies students who typically rank in the top 10% of their graduating class. Nearly all high schools in Illinois participate in this competitive program, highlighting the academic achievements of their students. Although there is no financial award associated with this recognition, being named an Illinois State Scholar is considered a significant accolade in academic circles.

The students honored from Ottawa Township High School are: Kaden Araujo, Taylor Brandt, Colt Bryson, Brooklyn Byone, Teagan Cole, Lucas Conley, Mario Gerena, Malcolm Gretencord, Rylee Harsted, Joseph Liebhart, Zulee Moreland, Jonathan Neu, Luke Passwater, Mason Posey, Claira Ruiz, Grant Smithmeyer, Madilyn Soulsby, Mary Stisser, and Ava Weatherford.
