The Morris Elementary School District #54 has announced its second quarter honor roll, highlighting the academic achievements of its sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students. This recognition includes both a High Honor Roll and a Regular Honor Roll, with specific criteria for each category.

To qualify for the High Honor Roll, students must achieve a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.75 and earn no grades lower than a “B.” Notably, a grade of “C” in an accelerated class is acceptable. The Regular Honor Roll criteria require a GPA of 3.5 or higher, with no grades below a “C.” Importantly, grades from Physical Education, Art, Band, Choir, and Computer classes do not count toward the GPA calculation for honor roll eligibility.

Honor Graduates are defined as students who maintain a final grade of “B” or above in essential subjects such as English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies in seventh grade, and who exhibit a cumulative “B” average in these subjects based on the first three quarters of eighth grade. It is important to note that GPAs are not rounded up; for instance, a GPA of 3.749 would not meet the High Honor Roll standard.
