Metro Vancouver Set for Sunny Weekend Following Rainy Start
Metro Vancouver is poised to experience a stretch of sunny weather following a brief period of drizzle. According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the region will see clearer skies starting Saturday afternoon, October 3, 2023.
Weather Forecast and Temperatures
Derek Lee, a meteorologist at ECCC, informed Daily Hive Vancouver that there will be “nothing major coming on the weekend.” He indicated that the skies are expected to clear by midday Saturday, leading to sunny conditions that may extend into Tuesday. “It is going to be sunny for at least Sunday and probably into Tuesday,” he stated.
The forecast suggests that daytime temperatures will remain near seasonal averages, with highs around 17°C in coastal areas and reaching up to 20°C inland. Lee noted, “At this time of year, a normal daytime high is around 15 to 16 degrees, so what we have on the forecast is around 17 for coastal areas.”
Conditions Through the Weekend
According to the ECCC forecast issued at 5 a.m. PDT on October 4, light drizzle is possible early Saturday morning, but conditions should clear by noon. Fog patches may develop overnight as temperatures drop to about 8°C under mostly clear skies. The sunny weather is projected to last until at least Friday, October 10, with highs ranging between 17°C and 19°C across much of Metro Vancouver.
Lee expressed optimism about the upcoming weather, saying, “Just some nice sun, perhaps, all over the weekend… if we don’t get too much low cloud.” Following several days of rain earlier in the week, the anticipated dry spell offers a perfect opportunity for residents to engage in outdoor activities.
For those seeking ideas, there are over 40 fun activities to explore in Vancouver this fall. Whether it’s enjoying the outdoors or participating in local events, the upcoming sunny days promise to provide a welcome change.
