Join the Trivia Challenge to Support Local Community Programs
The United Way of Grundy County is set to host an engaging trivia fundraising event on May 9, 2026, at the Loyal Order of Moose in Morris, Illinois. This event aims to bring together trivia enthusiasts while raising funds for essential community services. Participants can register teams of up to eight individuals for a fee of $200 or join as individuals for $25.
The trivia night will feature ten rounds of challenging questions, with mulligans available for $5 if participants find themselves stumped. A fifty-fifty drawing and a raffle for various items will add to the excitement of the evening. Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks, and a cash bar will be available on-site. To participate, teams must pre-register by May 1, 2026, through the United Way of Grundy County’s website at www.uwgrundy.org/events.
Support Local Initiatives Through Sponsorship
Businesses looking to promote their services while contributing to the community can explore sponsorship opportunities. These sponsorships offer recognition for businesses and play a crucial role in achieving fundraising goals. The United Way of Grundy County is also seeking in-kind donations for raffle items, which can include gift baskets, gift certificates, and other goods. Such contributions not only help raise more funds but also provide an excellent marketing opportunity for businesses.
Funds raised during the event will support nearly 50 vital human service programs administered by local not-for-profit partner agencies. These programs address critical areas such as basic human needs, education, health, crisis intervention, domestic violence, mental health, transportation, and disaster relief for various community members, including youth, families, low-income individuals, seniors, veterans, and persons with disabilities.
In addition, the United Way of Grundy County manages the Grundy County 2-1-1 Program, a 24-hour resource hotline, and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides free books each month to children from birth to age five.
Since its inception in 1946, the United Way of Grundy County has dedicated itself to improving the lives of individuals in the community, emphasizing health, education, and financial stability for all residents.
