Free Outdoor Movie Night to Feature ‘The Goonies’ in Peachland

Local businesses and the District of Peachland are collaborating to host a free outdoor movie night at Cousins Park. Scheduled for August 29, 2023, the event will feature the beloved 1985 cult classic, The Goonies. This film was designated for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2017 for its cultural and historical significance.
The screening is set to begin at 20:30 at Cousins Park, located at 4450 6th Street. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to enhance their viewing experience. To complement the movie, popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase, provided by the Peachland Ambassadors, while the Beachside Bites concession at Swim Bay will also be open for attendees seeking refreshments.
This community initiative is supported by various local partners, including the district’s recreation department, the Peachland Chamber of Commerce, Gorman Bros. Ltd., Jonathan Wall, Engel Volkers, Kelowna Truck & RV, and Pulse Blind Worx. With the collaboration of these organizations, the outdoor movie night promises to be an enjoyable evening for residents and visitors alike.
As families and friends gather under the stars to reminisce about a classic film, this event highlights the spirit of community engagement in Peachland. Whether you’re a long-time fan of The Goonies or discovering it for the first time, this free event offers a perfect opportunity to enjoy a night of entertainment in a picturesque setting.
