Four Regina Students Set for Magical Disneyland Adventure
Four students from the Elsie Mironuck School in Regina have been selected for a remarkable journey to Disneyland as part of a program by Dreams Take Flight, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing unforgettable experiences for deserving children. The announcement came as a surprise to the students, who were unaware of their selection for this once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Magic Kingdom.
The adventure begins with a trip to Winnipeg, where the Regina students will meet with peers from Manitoba. Together, 120 children and their chaperones will board an Air Canada charter flight bound for California. This initiative aims to create lasting memories for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit Disneyland.
One of the excited students, Abriella, is particularly familiar with the program. Her mother, Chelsea, experienced the same trip during her own elementary school years. “We’ve already talked about it before. I’ve told them that I went before and explained it to them, but I never actually thought that she would be going, so that’s cool,” Abriella said, reflecting on her mother’s past experience.
Greg Guest, a representative from Dreams Take Flight, elaborated on what the students can expect during their whirlwind trip. “It’s one day filled with as many rides, parades, churros—whatever the kids want to do—because that’s the major thing,” he stated. “It’s all about these kids because they deserve this magical day.”
Dreams Take Flight has been organizing trips to Disney for the past 36 years, providing thousands of children with the chance to experience the joy and wonder of the theme park. To enhance the festive atmosphere, Air Canada flight attendants will don Disney-themed attire, and the aircraft will feature magical music to set the tone for the journey.
This initiative not only creates unforgettable memories for the children involved but also highlights the importance of community support in making such dreams a reality. As the students prepare for their exciting adventure, anticipation builds for what promises to be a truly magical day at Disneyland.
