Four Nova Scotians Honoured with 2025 Medal of Bravery
Four residents of Nova Scotia have been awarded the prestigious 2025 Medal of Bravery for their remarkable acts of courage in protecting the lives and property of others. This recognition, bestowed by the provincial government, highlights the extraordinary bravery displayed by these individuals, who went above and beyond the call of duty.
During the award ceremony, Premier Tim Houston emphasized the significance of the medal, stating, “The Nova Scotia Medal of Bravery recognizes extraordinary courage and heroism, and that is what our four honourees have demonstrated. On behalf of all Nova Scotians, I am honoured to recognize and thank them.” His remarks reflect the deep appreciation the province has for those who take significant risks to ensure the safety of their fellow citizens.
The Medal of Bravery has been awarded since 2008, with a total of 59 Nova Scotians receiving this honour to date. The award serves to celebrate the selfless actions of individuals who exhibit bravery in challenging situations, often placing their own safety at risk to save others.
This year’s recipients exemplify the spirit of heroism that the award aims to honour. Their stories not only serve as inspiration but also remind the community of the importance of courage and altruism in everyday life. As Nova Scotia continues to recognize such acts of bravery, the legacy of these individuals will undoubtedly encourage others to act with similar valor in times of crisis.
