The DeKalb County Community Foundation is now accepting online scholarship applications from students in the area until April 1, 2024. This year, the Foundation has made available over 100 scholarship opportunities through its Universal Application. This initiative aims to streamline the application process, allowing students to pursue their educational goals with greater ease.

Using a single online form, student applicants—including high school seniors and nontraditional, undergraduate, and postgraduate students—can apply for a comprehensive range of scholarships offered by the Foundation. The Universal Scholarship Application enables candidates to determine their eligibility for all 107 scholarships in one step, which not only saves time but also enhances their chances of receiving financial assistance for their education.

“My goal is to make the application process as welcoming as possible for scholarship seekers at every stage,” said Sara Nickels, Grants and Scholarships Manager at the Foundation. “Offering all our awards through the Universal Application means applicants are automatically matched with eligible scholarships, reducing stress and uncertainty as students plan for their education.”

New Scholarships and Application Details

The 2024 Universal Application introduces six new scholarships, generously created by local donors. These include the Bob Suddeth 4-H Scholarship, Dave Fultz Scholarship, Jim Rhoades Law Enforcement Scholarship, Robert and Laura Carlson Scholarship, Ryan Charles Hill Memorial Scholarship, and Shirley Lorenz Yates Scholarship.

The application period remains open from February 1 until 11:59 p.m. on April 1. Students interested in applying are encouraged to visit dekalbccf.org/scholarships for more details about available scholarships, eligibility requirements, and to submit their applications.

For any questions or further information, students can reach out to Sara Nickels at 815-748-5383 or via email at [email protected]. This initiative represents a significant opportunity for local students to secure financial support as they pursue their educational and career aspirations.
