Creston’s Cram the Cruiser Event Raises Over $2,000 for Charity
On November 29, 2023, the Creston RCMP Charity Foundation held its annual Cram the Cruiser event at Pealow’s Independent Grocer, successfully raising significant funds for local initiatives. The community came together to support this vital event, which benefits both the local food bank and the Local Elementary Schools Breakfast Program.
This year’s event enjoyed strong backing from various local organizations, including the Jamie Wall East Kootenay Royal Lepage Realty Team, YRB Highway Maintenance, and the participation of BC Ambulance and the Creston Valley Fire Department. Their collective efforts underscored the spirit of community support that defines Creston.
Creston RCMP Detachment Commander, S/Sgt. Brandon Buliziuik, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “This yearly event is one of the highlights of my year. We get to see the whole community come together and support each other in providing for children and their families.”
The results of the day were impressive, with the event raising over $2,000 for the breakfast program and collecting more than 500 pounds of food for the local food bank. This reflects the ongoing commitment of the Creston Valley residents to support one another, particularly in meeting the needs of children and families in the area.
The Creston RCMP extended their heartfelt gratitude to the community and their partners, especially Pealow’s Independent Grocer, for hosting this impactful event once again. They emphasized the importance of continued community engagement and support for future fundraising initiatives.
Looking ahead, the Creston RCMP is eager to maintain this tradition and hopes to see even more participation in upcoming community events. The success of the Cram the Cruiser initiative serves as a reminder of the power of collective action and the impact it can have on local families.
