Community Remembers John Wyatt, 91, with Celebration of Life

John Wyatt, a cherished member of the community, passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 91. He spent his final days at Extendicare Mapleview, where he was surrounded by his family. Known for his warmth and dedication, John was the beloved husband of the late Melba Wyatt and a devoted father to four children: Allan Mick (Bernice), Shelley Crawford, Mike Wyatt (Susan), and Cindy Cadham (Darrell).

John leaves behind a legacy of love, as he was also a cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren: Robin (Steve), Rick (Cindy), Shawn (Hillery), Devan, Megan (Steve), Kristie (Brent), and Miranda (Scott). He took great pride in being a great-grandfather to numerous great-grandchildren, creating fond memories that will be treasured by his family.

Passionate Outdoorsman and Dedicated Worker

John was not only a family man but also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His happiest moments were spent tending to his farm and nurturing his garden. His dedication extended to his professional life, where he worked as a construction worker for over 40 years. His colleagues and friends will remember him for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft.

In addition to his immediate family, John was a dear brother-in-law to the late Audrey Herrington (late Mervin), late Phyllis Mick (late Ross), and the late Chuck Hurley. His passing is deeply felt by many nieces and nephews, who will miss his guidance and support.

Celebration of Life Details

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor John Wyatt on January 17, 2026Echo Bay Elks Lodge. The event will take place from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to come together and share memories.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel, located at 492 Wellington Street East. For those wishing to make memorial contributions, donations payable online or by cheque can be made to the Echo Bay Elks, a gesture that would be greatly appreciated by the Wyatt family.
