Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce Supports Tumbler Ridge Community
The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce has expressed its support for the Tumbler Ridge community, which is in mourning following a tragic mass shooting at a local school. In a press release dated February 12, the Chamber articulated its solidarity with the affected families, businesses, and residents, emphasizing the importance of community support in such difficult times.
“The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, along with many other Chambers across the province, stands in solidarity with the community of Tumbler Ridge during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement read. The Chamber highlighted that support from the business community is crucial as they come together to assist those in need.
In response to the tragedy, a dedicated account has been established to facilitate donations, providing a means for individuals to contribute financially. The Chamber urged those able to help to consider making a donation through the provided link. “How can we help our friends in Tumbler Ridge? Here’s how: if you are in a position to offer financial support, please consider making a donation,” the Chamber added.
The message from Chilliwack is clear: the Tumbler Ridge community is not alone in its grief. “Every contribution — no matter the size — is an act of care and solidarity that will help provide meaningful, practical support to those who need it most right now,” the statement emphasized. This sentiment aims to reassure the grieving community that they have a network of support during this challenging period.
The Tumbler Ridge Parent Advisory Council is coordinating the Tumbler Ridge Strong account in collaboration with the Tumbler Ridge Credit Union. Donations can be made online or via e-transfer to [email protected]. This initiative seeks to ensure that the financial assistance reaches those most affected by the tragedy, providing a lifeline to families and individuals in need.
As the Tumbler Ridge community navigates its loss, the support from the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce and other organizations serves as a reminder of the strength found in unity. “To everyone in Tumbler Ridge: we see you, we grieve with you, and we stand with you,” the Chamber concluded, reinforcing the commitment to collective healing and support.
The ongoing efforts to assist Tumbler Ridge highlight the resilience of communities when faced with adversity and the vital role of local organizations in times of crisis.
