Chamber of Commerce Hosts International Women’s Day Luncheon
The Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce is set to celebrate International Women’s Day with a fundraising luncheon on March 6, 2026. This event aims to honor women in business while fostering connections within the local community. Scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pembroke Curling Club, the luncheon promises an engaging atmosphere for attendees.
Organizers have designed the event around this year’s theme, “When We Give, We Gain.” It will bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members for networking, recognition, and insightful guest presentations. The afternoon will kick off with informal networking opportunities, alongside a vendor corner that showcases women entrepreneurs from the region.
A unique feature of the luncheon includes interactive table giveaways, generously supported by local sponsors. Guests will enjoy an international-style meal prepared by women-owned and women-led businesses, coordinated by Luiana of SOPA and her team. This culinary experience aims to highlight local talent while supporting women in the hospitality sector.
Canadian Nuclear Laboratories serves as the title sponsor for the event, emphasizing its commitment to recognizing women in the nuclear industry. During the program, the organization will spotlight the contributions of women in innovation and leadership roles within this sector.
The keynote address will be delivered by Debbie Fredericks of Bump Coaching, who is expected to discuss the impact of intentional giving in both professional and personal contexts.
According to the Chamber of Commerce, 80 of the available 100 tickets have already been sold, indicating strong interest in the event. Organizers encourage those interested to reserve their seats promptly, as table sponsorship opportunities are still available.
The event enjoys support from several member businesses of the chamber, including Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation, Enterprise Renfrew County, SOPA, Fleurish, and Custom Draperies Blinds and Bedding.
For additional information regarding tickets and sponsorship opportunities, details can be found on the chamber’s official website.
