Carson Bivins Scores 1,000 Career Points in Falcons’ Victory
In a significant milestone for high school basketball, Carson Bivins of Faith Christian has surpassed 1,000 career points during a commanding victory against Unity Christian. The game, held on Tuesday, concluded with a score of 72-30, showcasing Bivins’ exceptional skills as he led the Falcons with 26 points.
Bivins’ achievement marks a notable moment in his athletic career, reflecting both his dedication and talent on the court. Teammate Brody Bodzioch contributed significantly to the win, adding 12 points to the team’s total. This victory positions Faith Christian positively within their current season.
Other Notable High School Basketball Results
In other boys’ basketball action, Byron defeated Oregon with a score of 53-31. Oregon’s Cooper Johnson led his team with nine points, while Keaton Salsbury added eight points.
Meanwhile, Pearl City triumphed over Polo, finishing at 60-29. JT Stephenson was the standout player for Polo, scoring 10 points as his team fell behind early, trailing 20-2 after the first quarter.
In a matchup between St. Bede and Amboy, St. Bede won 63-41. Amboy’s Colt McCoy led his team with 19 points, but they struggled significantly, trailing 38-16 at halftime.
In another contest, Galesburg defeated Sterling 54-35, leaving Sterling with a record of 4-14 and 2-4 in the Western Big 6 Conference.
Girls’ Basketball Highlights
In girls’ basketball, Eastland achieved a decisive victory against Morrison, finishing 39-11. Morgan McCullough was the standout player for Eastland, scoring 21 points, while Trixie Carroll added 11 points. Morrison struggled offensively, with Avery White scoring just five points.
The Dakota team also faced a setback against Forreston, losing 50-32. Hailee Vogt led Dakota with 12 points, while Tenlei Patterson contributed nine points for Forreston.
In a competitive match, Fulton emerged victorious against Polo, with a score of 55-41. Wrenn Coffey led the Steamers with 21 points, and Breleigh Hayton added 20 points. Polo’s Cam Jones was a strong performer as well, scoring 23 points.
Additionally, in girls’ bowling, Dixon achieved a total pinfall of 2,620, defeating Rockford Christian, which scored 1,927. Madolynn Kirby led Dixon with a series score of 487.
In boys’ bowling, Sterling secured a win with a total of 2,945 against Erie-Prophetstown, which scored 2,885. Grady Witmer led Sterling with a personal best of 605, including a high game of 224. The Panthers’ Zach Phillips led his team with a series of 665.
These results reflect the competitive spirit and talent present in the local high school sports scene, with players making significant contributions to their teams and achieving personal milestones throughout the season.
