Toronto police are seeking assistance from the public to identify the family of an elderly woman found in the city’s west end. The woman, referred to as Maria, was discovered around 4 a.m. on August 19, 2023, near the intersection of Turner Road and Davenport Road. Authorities estimate she is approximately 88 years old.

Investigators have reported that Maria is unable to recall her home address or provide any information about her family or close friends. She primarily speaks Portuguese, which may complicate communication efforts. Officers describe her physical appearance as being between 5 feet and 5 feet 2 inches tall, with a slim build, short grey hair, and blue eyes.

At the time of her discovery, Maria was wearing a black cardigan sweater, black pants, and grey slippers. In an effort to locate her loved ones, police have released an image of her, hoping that someone may recognize her and assist in reuniting her with her family.

The Toronto Police Service urges anyone with information regarding Maria’s identity or her family to come forward. This outreach is crucial as it seeks to connect her with those who care for her. Community members with insights or leads are encouraged to contact the police directly.

As Maria’s situation remains a priority, the police continue to explore all available avenues to ensure her safety and well-being.
