William “Bill” Gregory, aged 57, of Sault Ste. Marie, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. His life was characterized by an unwavering commitment to family, a passion for helping others, and a dedication to his craft as a master mechanic.

Born on July 11, 1968, Bill was a loving husband to Lisa Gregory, described as her best friend and soulmate. He is survived by his children, Brad Gregory (Jamie) and Briley Gregory, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Braelee and Baizlynn. Bill also leaves behind his mother, Carol Prentice (Keith), and his late father, Gerry Gregory. He was a beloved brother to Jody Gregory (Betsy) and the late J.J. Gregory.

Bill’s family extended beyond his immediate relations; he cherished his role as son-in-law to Carol Skagen and the late Bernie Skagen, as well as being a brother-in-law to Kim Skagen, Glen Skagen (Janice), and Dan Skagen. A significant milestone in his life occurred in 2019, when he connected with his biological father, Ghislain Beland, in France. This reunion introduced him to his sisters and brother, which he regarded as one of his most cherished experiences.

Bill was known for his exceptional skills in small engine mechanics. He often spent his time in his garage, a space that served as a gathering place for friends and family, filled with laughter, stories, and the sounds of good music. His expertise extended to operating heavy equipment in various mines, culminating in his tenure at Siggfusson Northern.

Through his work and personal interactions, Bill demonstrated a remarkable ability to see the good in every situation and every person. His generosity and spirit reached countless lives, whether through a helping hand, a piece of advice, or a listening ear.

Above all, Bill was a devoted family man. His love was evident in every smile, every sacrifice, and every moment spent fostering a supportive home environment. His absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all those who were fortunate to know him.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Tian Xioa and the staff at Sault Area Hospital for their compassionate care during Bill’s illness. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service held.
