Samsung Food App Update Launches Free Calorie Tracking Feature
Samsung has announced an update to its food management application, now named Samsung Food, which introduces free calorie tracking for all users. This enhancement aims to support individuals in managing their dietary habits more effectively. Previously, the calorie tracking feature was exclusive to those with a paid subscription but is now accessible to everyone following the latest update.
The app, which evolved from Whisk after Samsung’s acquisition in 2019, was rebranded in 2023. With the new version, identified as 2.51.0, users can set daily targets for caloric intake, fiber, and macronutrients, enabling greater control over their nutrition. This initiative aligns with the growing trend towards health-conscious living, making meal planning more accessible.
Enhanced Nutrition Tracking Features
Upon activating the calorie tracking feature, users are prompted to link their Samsung Health accounts. This integration allows for a comprehensive view of calorie consumption against calories burned through physical activity. By leveraging this data, Samsung Food can offer personalized recommendations tailored to individual health goals.
The app’s interface displays daily calorie goals and suggests meal plans for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Users can choose to incorporate these plans into their calendars or modify them by selecting alternative meals from a vast recipe database. The app also provides step-by-step cooking instructions and functionality to scan ingredients using the device’s camera, simplifying the grocery shopping process.
The updated version of Samsung Food is available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Galaxy Store. With this update, Samsung continues to enhance its ecosystem of applications, encouraging users to embrace healthier lifestyles through innovative technology.
As the demand for user-friendly dietary management tools rises, Samsung’s proactive approach in providing free features reflects its commitment to consumer wellness and digital health solutions.
