Barrie Cyclist Dylan Pearce Aims for Records to Raise Mental Health Awareness

An ultra-endurance cyclist from Barrie, Dylan Pearce, has announced an ambitious series of challenges for his campaign titled “Ride Beyond Limits.” His mission is to raise awareness for mental health issues while aiming to set multiple records. Through this campaign, he seeks to “break records to break stigma,” emphasizing the importance of mental health discussions.
Pearce shared his personal journey on his GoFundMe page, detailing how cycling evolved from a hobby into a central aspect of his life. He credits the sport for helping him navigate his own mental health challenges, alongside therapy and counseling. Over the past year, Pearce has achieved significant milestones, including completing a remarkable 1,300-kilometre bikepacking journey around Quebec’s Gaspé Peninsula. He also placed first in his inaugural ultra long-distance race and cycled 825 kilometres around Lake Ontario in just 28 hours without rest.
“Cycling gave me structure, hope, and purpose when I needed it most,” Pearce stated on his fundraising page. He aims to channel this same energy into his campaign, raising funds and awareness for others facing similar struggles.
Upcoming Challenges and Fundraising Goals
In 2026, Pearce plans to undertake several challenges as part of the “Ride Beyond Limits” campaign. All proceeds from his fundraising efforts will benefit the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), with a target goal of raising $7,500.
“Every kilometer I ride will be in honour of the strength it takes to keep going, on the road and in life,” Pearce emphasized. His determination not only reflects his personal journey but also seeks to inspire others to confront their own invisible battles.
With his sights set on these record-breaking attempts, Pearce is poised to make a significant impact on mental health awareness. As he prepares for these challenges, he invites the community to support his cause through donations and participation in upcoming events.
The “Ride Beyond Limits” campaign serves as a testament to the resilience of individuals facing mental health issues, showcasing how passion and purpose can drive meaningful change.
