Todd Mondor Departs as President of University of Winnipeg
Todd Mondor is no longer serving as president and vice-chancellor of the University of Winnipeg, effective immediately. This decision was announced by Michelle Pereira, chair of the university’s board of regents, on Tuesday, following a series of deliberations by the board.
Mondor, who took office in April 2022, was initially appointed for a term lasting until June 30, 2027. In her statement, Pereira emphasized that the decision was made after careful consideration, stating, “The board feels that as we move to implement our recently announced strategic plan, it is in the best interest of the university and the broader community to refocus our leadership.”
In light of Mondor’s departure, the board is actively seeking an interim leader to guide the university during this transition period. Pavlina Radia, currently serving as provost and vice-president of academics, has been designated as the interim leader while the board continues its search for a permanent replacement.
The reasons behind Mondor’s exit have not been detailed publicly, nor has the board provided specific information regarding the strategic plan mentioned in the announcement. The University of Winnipeg, located in Manitoba, Canada, is known for its commitment to providing a high-quality education and fostering a diverse academic community.
As the university navigates this leadership change, stakeholders will be looking closely at how the new interim leadership under Radia will influence the implementation of the strategic initiatives outlined by the board.
